How to Fish Limit Lab
Rigging guides, bait mixing, and best rigs for the First Five system, Corn Bite, Scent-Lock Paddle Tails, and Urchin Strike.
How to fish First Five
Pinch Bite Core. Wrap with Search Cloud. Add a Long-Soak Bead when the bite slows. Mold onto a size 10 bait hook. Fish for five minutes, then adjust color, depth, mix, or location.
How to fish Search Cloud
Use as the outer layer of a two-part bait ball or on its own when fish are active, water is stained, or you want a louder first presentation. Refresh every 5–10 minutes.
How to fish Bite Core
Use as the center of a bait ball or on its own when trout are pressured, water is clear, or fish are nibbling without committing. Fish slower and let it soak longer.
How to use Long-Soak Beads
One bead per bait ball. Place inside Bite Core or between Bite Core and Search Cloud when fish are slow, deep, cold, or pressured. Replace every 30–45 minutes.
How to fish Corn Bite
Use 1–3 kernels on a size 8–10 bait hook. Fish under a float, on a bottom rig, or a small bait rig where legal. Refrigerate after opening and use within 30 days.
How to fish Scent-Lock Paddle Tails
Rig on a jig head, weighted hook, or finesse hook. Cast and retrieve slowly — just fast enough to keep the tail kicking. Pause near structure. Reseal the pouch after use.
How to fish Urchin Strike
Rig on a small jig head, drop shot, or finesse hook. Fish slowly — let it fall, pause, twitch, and pulse. Work weed edges, rocks, docks, brush, points, and current seams.
Best rigs for ponds and reservoirs
Slip-sinker rig with a 12–24″ fluoro leader and size 8–10 bait hook is the workhorse. Switch to a drop-shot or small jig for finesse plastics. Pair with the First Five Rig Kit to skip the guesswork.
Legal bait-water reminders
Use only where bait or scented products are legal. Do not use in artificial-only or flies-and-lures-only waters unless regulations clearly allow it. Do not chum or dump attractant. Always check local regulations.
